With time on my hands of late, I decided to brush up on my somewhat limited (given my profession!) art knowledge. I’ve been reading about the German expressionist movement, namely the Die Brucke Artists formed by 4 architecture students in Dresden, Germany in 1905.
The collective took the name meaning the bridge as they wanted to bridge the work of the past, with the vision of their expressive future.
The work was non-naturalist, often primitive in their nature, with crude drawing styles.
With this in mind, I took to the cellar with a view to break from my comfort zones.
I printed off a couple of unassuming photos I took of rather unfamiliar subject matters.
